  • Bonnie Maxine Cameron, 89, of the Forest Grove, Ore. community passed away July 14, 2013, at her home. Bonnie was born January 17, 1924, in Portland, Ore. She was the only child born to Joseph and Lois (Ball) McAllister.
    She grew up and received her education in Portland. Bonnie attended Jefferson High School and was a graduate from the class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Wallace Cameron May 10, 1947, in Portland. They moved to Ashland in 1951, and then moved to Brookings, Ore. in 1982. Wallace passed away in April of 1991. In December 2001 Bonnie moved to Forest Grove and made her home at the Jennings McCall Center.
    Bonnie was first and foremost a mother to her two children. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, keeping family photo albums, and scrap books with special interest in a pictorial genealogy album dating back to the 1600s. She also enjoyed keeping in touch by letters and cards with family and friends. Bonnie enjoyed camping with her family, motorcycling, fishing and RVing with her husband.
    She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Bonnie originally joined with Mt. Hood Chapter #144 in 1945. Demit to Alpha Chapter #1 in Ashland, Ore. in 1955. Demit to Satellite Chapter #156 in Brookings in 1984, and Alpha Life Member since 1978. Bonnie was involved in the active participation Order of Rainbow for Girls in Brooking from 1985-1989. She received her 50-year pin while attending Satellite Chapter in Brookings in 1995.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Cameron; and her parents, Joseph and Lois McAllister. Survivors include her two children and their spouses, Scott and Pamela Cameron, of Tualatin, Ore., and Keith and Caroline Cameron, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grand children; and four great-great-grandchildren.
    Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Tualatin Presbyterian Church, 9260 SW Siletz, Tualatin, OR 97062.
