  • Britt Festivals will move this weekend's 2013 Classical Festival opener indoors to keep performers and attendees out of the thick smoke from nearby wildfires that has blanketed the area.
Britt officials said the concerts will be held at the South Medford High School gymnasium, 1551 Cunningham Ave., instead of outdoors in Jacksonville.
The concerts will be held at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. They feature Mei-Ann Chen — a Britt music director finalist — and pianist Jon Kimura Parker on Friday and pianist Ian Parker on Saturday.
People who have purchased tickets can use them at the new site. Britt officials said they will email ticket holders with more details. Additional tickets will be available at the door.
For more information, call Britt at 541-773-6077 or visit the Britt box office at 216 W. Main St., Medford. The box office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Britt officials were still sorting out details Thursday but said food and drinks will not be offered.
Festival staff said they will continue to monitor air quality and notify patrons about future concert locations as the dates get closer.
A full program of the Classical Festival concerts is available online at www.brittfest.org.
