Changing air quality and weather forecasts have prompted Britt Festivals to move Saturday's performance back to the Britt Gardens in Jacksonville.
Faced with air quality that had been listed as hazardous at times this week, festival officials had arranged to stage this weekend's shows at South Medford High School, 1551 Cunningham Ave.
"We know this may create some confusion, but indications are strong that the weather will be pleasant over Jacksonville tomorrow," Britt's Executive Director Donna Briggs said in a prepared statement announcing the latest change. "We want to give our patrons, our orchestra and our music director finalist Mei-Ann Chen the true Britt experience they all deserve."
Tonight's show, featuring Chen leading the orchestra and pianist Jon Kimura Parker, will be at the school gymnasium. The box office will open in the school lobby at 6 p.m., doors will open at 7 and the concert will start at 8. Pre-concert activities have been canceled, and no food or drink is allowed.
Saturday's concert will proceed as usual in Jacksonville, but officials said concession stands might be closed, as the operators made other plans when the previous change was announced.
