Boston-based band Absinthe Rose, fronted by Ashland's very own singer and songwriter Kimbo Rose, plays at 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Caldera Tap House, 31 Water St., Ashland.
The band, featuring Rose on acoustic guitar and vocals and a rhythm section of Boston-area music veterans, combines personal and political subjects with its own brand of folk. Like O'Death and The Builders and the Butchers, Absinthe Rose brings a rawhide country-punk element to Americana.
Rose formed Absinthe Rose as a solo project in 2008 in Southern Oregon before relocating to Boston and recording her debut "Digging Ditches & Escaping Holes."
Buckle Rash, the Delta Halos and Silas R. Shand will open Rose's show at Caldera. The cover is $5. Call 541-482-7468.
