The forecast at AirNow.gov, a website developed by the Environmental Protection Agency and other governmental agencies to provide information about air quality, predicts that Medford's air-quality index will remain unhealthy for sensitive groups, nearing 150 today. Values above 150 are considered unhealthy for everyone.
The index numbers in Grants Pass and Provolt remain above that benchmark, with Grants Pass reporting 195 and Provolt 185 at 10 a.m.
Cave Junction's air quality, which reached levels considered hazardous on Monday evening, was listed as moderate this morning.
