There will be a talk on the Food Safety Modernization Act and its effect on small farms from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at the Oregon State University Extension Auditorium, 569 Hanley Road, Central Point.

The free lecture will be hosted by OSU faculty member Lauren Gwin, who will talk about the act and how sustainable agriculture groups are asking for changes before it's signed into law.

Registration is required, either by phone at 541-776-7371, ext. 208, or by email at maud.powell@oregonstate.edu.
