Peace activist and Jewish Quaker Maxine Kaufman-Lacusta will discuss nonviolent resistance activists in Israel and the occupied territories at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, in the Stevenson Union Building's Rogue River Room on the Southern Oregon University campus.
SOU's United Nations Club, and history and political science department, Peace House, South Mountain Friends Meeting, and Amnesty International host the event.
The talk is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.
Kaufman-Lacusta has lived in Israel seven years, and is the author of "Refusing to be Enemies: Palestinian and Israeli Nonviolent Resistance to the Israeli Occupation." She will sign copies of the book at the talk.
