Turner and Moore met in 2011 on a blind date and formed the band shortly after. The couple filled out the lineup with pedal steel guitarist Aaron Alkire, electric guitarist Jeremy Hickman and drummer Mike O'Donnell.
While the band's instrumentation lends itself to twangy, '40s- and '50s-style country, its songwriting has more contemporary themes, Moore says.
Four of its original songs are available for download at www.turnermooreband.com.
The cover to the shows at Alex's is $5. Guitarist Justin Wismar will open the show on Friday. Call 541-482-8818 for more information.
