Five Jackson County fire departments will practice working together this week to fight large wildfires.

The training is set for Wednesday through Friday. Trucks from Medford Fire-Rescue, Jackson County Fire District No. 3, Jackson County Fire District No. 5, Ashland Fire & Rescue and Applegate Fire will gather in the old Talent Walmart's parking lot Wednesday morning before heading to Camp Baker Road for hands-on training.

Skills will include structure protection, hose pack use, mobile attack, and water tender use. Training should conclude by noon each day, organizers said.
