Thanks for help with Empty Bowls
The board, staff, and volunteers of Peace House would like to thank the community for making its May 24 Empty Bowls fundraiser such a success. Proceeds will benefit Uncle Foods Diner and two of its partners in local food security, Food Angels and ACCESS Inc.
Many media organizations helped promote attendance, including a wonderful story by John Darling in this newspaper. Handmade bowls were provided by Clayfolk, Southern Clay Distributors, Hospice Unique Boutique, the SOU Ceramics Department and Sarah Sievert's Spanish class at Eagle Point High School.
Food was supplied by Ashland Food Co-op, Amuse, Black Sheep Pub and Restaurant, C Street Bistro, Greenleaf Restaurant, La Baguette, Maren Faye Caterer, Mix Sweet Shop, Pangea, Spoons, Standing Stone Brewery, Sunstone Bakery and the Village Baker.
Music was provided by Elizabeth Market, James Excell, Asha Slater, and the Rogue Valley Peace Choir Ensemble. Thanks to Northwest Nature Shop and Paddington Station for handling the tickets, Jeff Golden for emceeing and all the volunteer servers and cleanup staff. The generosity of our local community is heart-warming.
