  • The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will present its 2013 Green Show, offering a diverse lineup of artists on its courtyard stage, through Oct. 13.
The free shows take place at 6:45 p.m. before evening theater performances, every night but Monday, and last about 35 minutes.
"This season we once again celebrate the powerful diversity of our local and international community," says Claudia Alick, Green Show curator and OSF's associate producer for community, in a news release. "The Green Show is a space that facilitates artistic exchange. It's where we find out who we are, who our neighbors are, and what we share.
"This season, the Green Show will soar through the air, get down with American roots music and dance like no one is watching. Our little courtyard stage is home to luminaries and neophytes — artists from all over the world and right next door — in conversation with the communities and aesthetics explored within our plays and audiences. And I'm proud to be presenting more artists with disabilities in one season than ever before: DanceAbility, PHAME and The Wild Zappers."
As the Elizabethan Theatre's outdoor stage performances begin previews, the Green Show will present BROTHER, a Celtic tribal celebration, on Tuesday, June 4. Ashland's Rogue World Ensemble will perform Wednesday, June 5, and Sarah Jane Nelson and Michael "Hawkeye" Herman will perform Louisiana-style blues Thursday, June 6.
On June 14-16, to celebrate the Elizabethan's opening nights, the courtyard shows will feature Celtic rock group The Tempest, Portland-based folk artists Shook Twins and the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, an award-winning youth orchestra.
