Puget Sound junior outfielder/pitcher and Ashland High alum Lucas Stone has earned a first-team All-Northwest Conference nod for his work as a utility player for the NCAA Division III Loggers.
Stone, who helped Ashland advance to the 2010 Class 5A state championship game, led Puget Sound with a .356 batting average, including .358 in conference games, and also hit a team-high 15 doubles and drove in 16 runs.
Stone also pitched well for the Loggers, finishing with a 1.82 ERA in conference games to rank fourth in the NWC. Stone was 4-2 with four saves in 41 innings of relief.
Stone, who will be playing for the North Central Kansas Knights of Salina, Kan., this summer, also recently received Puget Sound's Harry Werbiski Award for "scholarship, skill and determination".
