Few ballots returned yet in Tuesday's election

 Posted: 4:05 PM May 20, 2013

Jackson County election officials report a low voter turnout so far for Tuesday's district election.

County Clerk Chris Walker reported 14.5 percent of ballots had been returned by this afternoon.

"It's very slow, so slow — one of the slowest elections we've ever had," she said.

Voters must return ballots by 8 p.m. Tuesday. They can be dropped off at the elections office, 1101 W. Main St., Medford; Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd.; Central Point library, 116 S. Third St.; Eagle Point library, 239 W. Main St.; and the Rogue River City Hall, 133 Broadway St.

The elections office and library drop boxes are available 24 hours a day. The Rogue River City Hall drop box opens at 9 a.m., closes for one hour for lunch at 12:30 p.m., then stays open until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
