Ashland erupted for five runs in the second and seven more in the third to pick up its sixth win in a row 13-2 over Eagle Point, Thursday in the final Southern Oregon Hybrid Class 5A game between the two teams at North Mountain Park.

Ashland (14-8) swept the three-game series by a combined score of 37-11 to claim the league title.

Bryce Rogan, Steen Fredrickson and Jack Carroll had two hits apiece for the Grizzlies, and starting pitcher Tommy Hulick held Eagle Point (7-12) to two runs on two hits in four innings to pick up his first win of the year.

Rogan delivered a bases-loaded single through the right side to score two runs and break a 1-1 tie with nobody out in the second inning. Fredrickson added an RBI double and Carroll an RBI single to put Ashland on top 6-1.

The Grizzlies piled on in the third, more than doubling their lead on just two hits thanks mostly to Eagle Point's struggles on the mound: the inning included six walks, two hit batsmen, two wild pitches and a passed ball.

Rogan added an RBI double and Ryan Bottimore an RBI single.

The Grizzlies, who haven't lost since April 16 at Roseburg, cap their regular season with a doubleheader against South Medford on May 11.
