Ashland's Community Emergency Response Team will offer emergency -preparedness training from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at The Grove, 1195 E. Main St., Ashland.
The "aCERT yourself" training will focus on the command structure during an incident, learning how emergency medical responders are trained, and helping pets during a crisis, organizers said.
Ashland Fire & Rescue Chief John Karns will talk about the command structure.
Mobile Trauma Unit Coordinator Leslie Huntington will talk about training for emergency medical responders and triage in the field.
Veterinarian Dr. Kathy Snell will talk about how animals respond to stress, how to comfort family pets and help others' pets during an emergency, and new medical treatments for animals.
