Up-and-coming rock-pop sextet The Boom Booms is on the road testing out songs for a new album.
The band, which hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, will perform at 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Club 66, 1951 Ashland St., Ashland. The cover is $3.
The band is Aaron Ross on guitar, Geordie Hart and bass, Sean Ross on cavaquinho, Tom Van Deursen on electric guitar, Theo Vincent on percussion and Richard Brinkman on drums.
After releasing its debut "¡Hot Rum!" in 2011, The Boom Booms were one of 20 bands selected to be part of the British Columbia's 2011 Peak Performance Project, a program intended to launch emerging artists into the music industry. The band was awarded second place and took home a $75,000 cash prize.
