A fire in rural Talent tore through a barn this morning, destroying farm equipment and vehicles.
Fire officials said the blaze was reported just before 1 a.m. in the 3000 block of Anderson Creek Road. Jackson County Fire District No. 5, Ashland Fire & Rescue, and Medford Fire-Rescue responded.
"When we arrived on scene, it was about 80 percent involved," said Fire District No. 5 Capt. Bryan Dorris. "It was a defensive fire from the very beginning."
Crews used the water tenders to put out the blaze. It took about 30 minutes to get the fire under control. No one was hurt.
Damage estimates were not available. The cause is still under investigation.
