Freezing temperatures are expected in the Rogue Valley overnight, prompting the National Weather Service to warn that sensitive plants could be harmed.

The weather service's Medford office issued a freeze warning that will be in effect from 2 to 8 a.m. Tuesday across Jackson, Josephine and eastern Curry counties.

Low temperatures are expected to dip as low as the mid 20s overnight. A weak temperature inversion also will be present Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service warning said.

These temperatures can damage or kill crops and other sensitive plants, weather officials reported.
