Need some help keeping the kids busy over Spring Break? Here is a list of local activities and camps for kids during the break.
Medford Parks and Recreation
Special day camps are designed to meet both parent and child needs for supervised, fun, recreational activities during when the kids are out of school. Camps are staffed by trained recreation leaders and each camp session is divided into age groups to ensure age-appropriate activities. Campers enjoy games in the Youth Activity Center, sports in the gymnasium, cool crafts, and our inflatable playground. Ages 4-12. Five-day cost is $79 per week, per child. Extended Care from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., additional $10 per child
Three-day cost (Tuesday through Thursday) is $59 per week, per child and extended care adds $6 per week, per child. Payment plans and partial scholarships available. Kid Time! offers craft time with art supplies for kids from 11 to 11:30 a.m., every Monday and Tuesday. Cost is $8 a child and $4 for adults. Glue, construction paper, pipe cleaners, and wiggly eyes are just a few of the supplies provided for little ones. Each week is themed with coordinating creative crafts the kids will love and be able to do all by themselves. Kid Time! is located at 106 N. Central Ave., Medford. Rogue Gallery and Art Center
Ted Helard offers a cartoon and comics camp at the Rogue Gallery and Art Center. This class arms kids with pencils, paper and modeling clay. Kids can draw and construct their own unique characters. They will learn the basic concepts of cartooning, including how to create simple cartoon figures and bring them to life. The class is held from 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, March 26 through Friday, March 29. Cost is $89 for members and $102 for non-members. The Rogue Gallery and Art Center is at 40 S. ScienceWorks will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 25 through April 7, for fun hands-on activities and live science demos.
