Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray

 Posted: 4:40 PM March 21, 2013

According to its bio, Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray's vintage soundscape is marked by compelling storytelling, evocative imagery, "the urgency of Southern soul, the earthiness of classic country and the pioneering spirit of '60s and '70s blues-rock."

The Chicago-based pair with its arsenal of instruments, including guitar, banjo, mandolin, organ and glockenspiel, will perform at 9 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Caldera Tap House, 31 Water St., Ashland.

In 2011, Shevaughn and Wray set out in their Honda Element to see the country and play where they could. This inaugural tour was followed by the release of their well-praised debut, "We're From Here," in 2012 and "Live@ DC9" in 2013.

The cover to the show at Caldera costs $5. Call 541-482-4677 or see
