Spring Festival Noons at OSF

Make the most of your trip to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival with a lecture or play introduction.

Preface Plus — a 45-minute introduction concluding with a 15-minute Q-and-A format — will be presented for "Two Trains Running" at noon Saturdays, March 16 and 23, April 6 and May 4 and 18.

One-hour lectures with actors, artisans and other OSF company members sharing insights about theater and the festival, followed by a Q-and-A period, will be presented Saturdays, March 30, April 13, 20 and 27 and May 11.

  • Dramaturg, educator and playwright Susan Jones will present a lectured titled "Happy Endings: The Paradox of Love in 'My Fair Lady,' 'The Taming of the Shrew' and Other Comedies" at noon Saturday, March 30.
  • David Carey, a voice and text director at OSF, will present "You Say Tomayto, I Say Tomahto: A Day in the Life of 'My Fair Lady's' Dialect Coach" Saturday, April 13.
  • OSF's Director of Literary Development and Dramaturgy Lue Morgan Douthit will present "What's Love Got to Do With It? Ruminations on a Contemporary Shrew" Saturday, April 20.
  • OSF Artistic Director Bill Rauch will present "The Thing Itself: Directing 'King Lear' " Saturday, April 27.
  • Playwrights Casey Hurt, Ian Merrigan and Ramiz Monsef will present "Creating 'The Unfortunates' " May 11.

All noon events take place in Carpenter Hall on the OSF campus, 15 S. Pioneer St., Ashland. Tickets cost $10, $8 for ages 6 through 17, and may be purchased online, at the box office or by calling 800-219-8161.
