Teresa Sayre, who's been with the Phoenix-Talent School District for 15 years, has been selected as its new superintendent.
The School Board unanimously approved Sayre's appointment Thursday. She will replace Ben Bergreen, who is retiring after 12 years.
Sayre is the district's director of instructional services. She will take over her new position on July 1.
A lifelong Rogue Valley resident, Sayre previously served as assistant principal at Talent Middle School and principal at Talent Elementary School. Sayre was selected after a six-month-long process involving the board, administration, certified and classified staff and the community.
