Bob Land passed away January 16, 2013, at home in Central Point, Ore. with his family by his side. He was born September 30, 1924, in Huntington Park, Calif. to parents Della and Elwood Land.
Bob was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 28 years, retiring to Medford in 1986. He enjoyed rebuilding old cars, ham radio, camping/RVing, and water-skiing. He belonged to the Medford Elks (life-member), Rogue Valley Amateur Radio Club, Rogue Valley Old Timer Car Club, and the Rogue Valley A's.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Land; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Land and Laurie Buek, of New York; daughter and son-in-law, Judy Arter and Loren Ford, of Manzanita, Ore.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Lavers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life party will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013, 3:00 p.m. at Twin Creeks, Town Hall, 888 Twin Creeks Crossing, Central Point, Ore. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution to the charity of your choice.
