  • Ashland Historic Railroad Museum invites the community to come see the award-winning new film by Portland filmmaker Tom Olsen, "The Crime of the D'Autremont Brothers," at the Gresham Room of the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd.
The film will be screened at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11. Olsen will present the film and will be available afterwards for discussion.
The "Crime of the d'Autremont Brothers" premiered at the 39th Northwest Filmmakers Festival last year and was a recipient of a 2012 Oregon Film Award. It is a new telling of the story of the D'Autremont train robbery that happened in Ashland on Oct. 11, 1923. The story is told by their lawyer Noreen McGraw, who fought for their parole, and filmaker Jerry Schneider, who made a film about the D'Autremonts in 1973.
The screening is part of the museum's new monthly lecture series, "A Train Runs Through It: Ashland History in Story and Song." This event is free and refreshments will be provided. Donations are accepted.
