Ashland audiobook publisher Blackstone Audio Monday was sold for an undisclosed sum to United Kingdom-based AudioGO, representatives from Blackstone confirmed today.
Former owners Craig and Michelle Black will retain a small share of Blackstone, and will continue to work as consultants for the company, Craig Black said in a Monday email sent to Blackstone's employees.
In the email, Black said he also will serve on the company's board of directors, and former Blackstone president Josh Stanton will serve as the company's chief executive officer in North America.
"AudioGo is a strong, well-managed, and strongly backed company that shares Blackstone's vision," Black said in the email. "This move will surely produce new and enlarged opportunities and benefits for Blackstone's employees, narrators, and customers."
AudioGo was formerly known as BBC Audiobooks.
