Veda Velma Zupan, 87, passed away at home December 13, 2012. Her health had been failing for the past few years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be greatly missed.
Veda was born July 3, 1925, in Modesto, Calif. the daughter of Reuben and Dott Williams.
At the age of five she moved to Ashland with her family. She spent her childhood growing up in Ashland with her two older brothers, Jack and Dale, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated Ashland High School in 1943. On September 16, 1945, she married Leo A. Zupan, from Price, Utah, in Ashland, Ore. They made their home in Ashland where they raised three children, Cloma, John, and Tricia.
In her younger years, Veda had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star and volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America. She enjoyed fishing, knitting, sewing, dancing with her husband, and playing bridge. She also enjoyed playing poker with her husband and a group of close friends in her later years. She was a marvelous cook and Leo was always inviting friends home for dinner.
Veda is survived by her husband, Leo. A. Zupan; son, John (Marilyn) Zupan; daughter, Tricia Baur; and five grandchildren, Chad Lewis, Chelsea Zupan, Devin Zupan, Dani Akulschin, and Jenni Carrier. She has eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Dott William; daughter, Cloma; and brothers, Jack and Dale.
The memorial service for Veda Velma Zupan will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Rogue Valley Fellowship, 2399 South Pacific Hwy., Medford, Ore.
