Gabe Stanely scored a game-high 23 points and Quaid Walters scored 10 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter as Ashland battled back from a 13-point deficit to beat Mazama 64-56 Tuesday at Mountain Avenue Gym.

The Grizzlies (1-3), who trailed 44-40 entering the fourth quarter, hit five of their 10 3-pointers in the final frame to pull away. Steen Fredrickson helped Ashland's cause by scoring 11 points.

Ashland's comeback began after Mazama took a six-point lead with about five minutes to go.

"(Walters) was our spark plug and he got us going," Ashland head coach Larry Kellems said. "(Walters) just kind of took it on his own and decided, 'I'm going to get this thing going,' and the other people were just knocking down 3s. I think we hit three or four (3-pointers) in a row, and that's what kind of broke Mazama's back."

Mazama fell to 2-2.
