Ashland High Arts Advocates will host the annual Winter Fine Arts Festival on Friday, Dec. 7, at Ashland High School's Mountain Avenue Theater.
The festival showcases Ashland High students' work in theater, dance, orchestra, choirs, jazz and symphonic bands, fine arts and video.
Doors open for a silent auction, art displays and refreshments at 5:30 p.m. Performances begin at 7 p.m.
The program and silent auction, featuring as many as 200 items donated by local businesses, is AHAA's major annual fundraiser. Last year, the organization awarded nearly $4,700 in scholarships to AHS arts students to help cover the costs of private lessons, music camps and other arts-related learning opportunities.
The organization also grants thousands of dollars in stipends to arts teachers to help cover costs of instrument repair, classroom materials and supplies, and helps pay expenses for arts students at state competitions.
Admission to the festival costs $10. Tickets are available in advance at Paddington Station and online at www.ShowTix4U.com. Tickets will also be sold at the door the night of the event.
Donations — as checks payable to AHAA — may be sent directly to Ashland High School at 201 S. Mountain Ave., Ashland, OR 97520.
