Carmel - Sharon Lindsay, born in Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away at her home November 18, 2012. She had previously lived in Los Gatos and San Rafael, Calif., and Ashland, Ore., before coming to Carmel, Calif. several months ago. Sharon received her bachelor's degree and a teaching credential from San Jose State University. She taught for several years before founding a technical writing firm and then a software company supporting investment clubs.

While living in Los Gatos, Sharon was active in the Unitarian Church. After moving to Ashland, she taught music history courses at the college level. Sharon was a gifted classical singer who also played piano and guitar.

Sharon is survived by her children, Michael (Noelle Leca) Moradzadeh, of Marin County, and Gracie Poletti, of Carmel; her half-sisters, Melissa and Romana Wood, both of Oregon, and Laura (Tom) Horton, of Santa Rosa; her grandchildren, Cameron, Alex, and Mia; and her seven-toed cat, Ernest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2006.
