Gas prices drop statewide days before holiday travel weekend

PORTLAND, Ore. — The AAA auto club reports the average price of gasoline in Oregon is $3.53.
That's down 8 cents in a week, 48 cents in a month, and it's 14 cents lower than a year ago. It's 11 cents higher than the national average.
Some metro prices from the AAA's Monday survey:
Portland $3.50, Salem $3.52, Eugene-Springfield $3.53, and Medford-Ashland $3.52.
