  • Monster Dash was a great success
With support from over 760 registrants and the generous donations from nearly 150 corporate, business and individual sponsors, our fourth annual Monster Dash Run for Education raised nearly $18,000 for the Ashland public schools. For the four years, we have now raised over $50,000 for the schools.
This event was hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Ashland, and leading sponsor Yogurt Hut, to raise funds for Ashland Schools Foundation's Impact Grant program for the current school year.
You came out, you got involved, and you joined the community for the fourth annual Monster Dash! This year we had 390 runners finish the 5K and 10K races, and 250 runners/walkers/strollers who finished the one-mile walk/run.
Congratulations to the race participants, and a big thank you to all the volunteers!

Road diet has made things better
In response to all the criticism of the road diet (really, a full-page ad in the Sneak Preview?), I'd like to say I'm strongly in favor and approve of this dynamic plan.
Navigating Main Street has always been a problem and was only getting worse, especially during peak driving hours. I live on Wimer Street and know this first hand.
The road diet has changed that. It's forced everyone to slow down just enough, and has made left hand turns all the easier. Drivers have become more conscious of bike riders, pedestrians and other motorists because of this change, and it's mellowed the traffic pattern just enough to make living so close to it bearable.
Motorists and "Citizens Against the Road Diet," the streets are not just for you.
