Luetta Lu was born to Helmer A. Anderson and Mabel T. Anderson March 20, 1936, in Great Falls, Mont., and passed away October 19, 2012. Lu graduated from Grant High School in Portland, Ore. In 1974 Lu moved to Eagle Point from the Portland area.
Lu worked for Jackson County ESD in the '70s and then in Economic Development for the Rogue Valley. In the '90s she started her own consulting business and was a founding member and Coordinator of the Little Butte Creek Watershed Council.
Lu enjoyed many things which included extensive travel throughout the West, fly fishing, rock hunting, and gardening. She believed in getting involved with what interested her and donated her time and expertise to many local organizations including The Peter Britt Music Festival, Rogue Fly Fishers, Southern Oregon Historical Society, and was a founding member of Jackson County Natural Resource Advisory Committee.
Lu is survived by her son, Greg Anthony; daughter, Alexa Anthony; grandson, Christopher Pettegrew; and the love of her life', Ed Kupillas.
