When he and Cecile were married in 2004, they opted to spend summers in Ashland, Ore. and winters in Kailua, Hawaii, where he had many friends and acquaintances. He played golf and tennis well into his 80s and remained active until just recently.
His survivors include his wife, Cecile; son, and daughterin-law, Keller and Mary Staley, of Bethesda, Md.; daughters, Melissa Pedersen, of Dublin, Calif. and Ann Bracket, of Eureka, Calif.; stepson, and stepdaughter-in-law, John and Joanie Abbott, of Chico, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
He will be much missed by all that knew him because he was larger than life.
