  • Eda James, resident of Medford Ore., passed away October 5, 2012, in Medford, Ore.
    Eda was born in Grabill, Ind. on August 5, 1919, to her parents, Albert and Ella Schlatter. She was raised in Calif. and earned a BA from UCLA and a MA in Music from USC. She was an accomplished and internationally respected concert pianist with advanced studies in Frnace and Michelangeli in Italy.
    After moving to Medford, Ore., Eda performed annual concerts both locally and at Asbury college in Wilmore, Ky., of which she was a patron. she also taught English for many years at Yuba Community College in Calif.
    She enjoyed a strong Christian faith and had, in recent years, been a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Medford. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mu Phi Epsilon, and PEO.
    Eda was predeceased by her first husband, Rex Jameson, the elder brother of her second husband, Don Jameson, who survives along with her sister, Marjorie Tweedie; one niece, and two nephews.
    A memorial service will take place at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Monday October 15, 2012, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
    Memorial donations may be designated to the youth program at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
