Ashland Community Hospital's board of directors on Wednesday approved a partnership with San Francisco-based Dignity Health, according to an email from board chairman Doug Gentry.
Dignity's board of directors voted for similar approval at a meeting Tuesday. Dignity Health, formerly Catholic Healthcare West until January 2012, is the fifth largest hospital system in the U.S. It operates 40 hospitals and 150 care centers in Arizona, Nevada and California, and employs over 65,000 people.
ACH officials decided on a partnership with Dignity after an eight-month review process.
