Cuisine and scene: This dark, wood-paneled bar offers some of Ashland's best outdoor seats just beyond its front door on a patio perched above Ashland Creek. Diners can select unusual pizza toppings such as bacon, breaded eggplant, smoked salmon and caramelized yams. Individual slices — from $2.50 to $3.50 — and the $6 lunch special that includes a slice of the day's pizza (meat or vegetarian), a small green salad and fountain soda, iced tea or lemonade makes this one of the cheapest meals creekside.
Recommended: The "Slammy" pizza with caramelized yams, broccoli and roasted garlic sounds weird but tastes great; the lunch special's mixed greens are impressively fresh even if pizza slices aren't piping-hot from the oven.
Alternative diets: Five vegetarian pizzas, three vegetarian appetizers and pastas, veggie "grinder" and 20 vegetable toppings for build-your-own pies and calzones; house-made gluten-free crust available with 14-inch pizzas for an extra $4.
Beverages: Local, Oregon and other domestic craft beers on tap; imported and domestic bottled beers; domestic and imported wines by the glass and bottle; specialty cocktails and full bar; bottled juices, root beer and water; lemonade, iced tea and fountain sodas.
Price range: Appetizers, $5 to $12.50; salads, $6.50 to $7.50; pizzas, $14.50 to $26; pastas, $9.50 to $10.50; sandwiches, $9; desserts, $4.50 to $8; lunch special, $6 to $9; add-ons and extras, $1 to $3.
Extras: Eighteen percent gratuity applied to parties of six or more; no separate checks; delivery after 5 p.m. within Ashland.
Serving: 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily; lunch until 4 p.m.; late-night menu from 10 p.m. until close.
