Petunia & The Vipers

 Posted: 8:20 AM September 27, 2012

Petunia & The Vipers presents saloon-style music at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Alex's Plaza Restaurant and Bar, 35 N. Main St., Ashland.

The band, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, plays a blend of ragtime, rockabilly, honky-tonk and cowboy blues.

Petunia, a guitarist and yodeler, spent the early part of his career busking street corners and subway stations in Canada and New York City. He now tours up and down the West Coast between Canada and Los Angeles with The Vipers: Jimmy Roy on lap-steel guitar, Stephen Nikleva on electric guitar and Marc L'Esperance on drums; Patrick Metzger, Sam Shoichet and James Lillico are the band's upright bassists.

Cover to the show at Alex's is $3. Call 541-482-8818 or see
