The Seaons

 Posted: 8:20 AM September 27, 2012

The Seaons is the newest configuration of indie, rock band The Apple Siders, formed in 2010 as part of Sean Siders' senior project at South Medford High School.

Last year, Siders and his bandmates decided they had outgrown their original moniker and started calling themselves The Seaons. The new name resulted from a spelling error on the their most recent EP, "We the Seasons." At one point, the middle "s" in "seasons" was left out, the band liked it and the name stuck.

The band's current lineup is Siders on keyboards and guitar, high-school senior Grayson Phelps on bass, Southern Oregon University senior Alex Detweiler on drums and Micah McCaw, a finalist at the 2011 Southern Oregon's Got Talent, on guitar.

"Sun Gun," the band's first full-length album, is scheduled for release in December. Demos can be heard on the band's website,

The Seaons play at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Green Springs Inn, 11470 Highway 66, Ashland. Local bluegrass duo Rainy and the Rattlesnakes will open the show. The concert is free. Call 541-890-6435.
