Teresa Jane Mitchel passed away August 11, 2012, at the age of 58 after a battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Mitchel and Mary Russo, and is survived by her children, Jennifer Henderson Zeglen and Mark Henderson; her son-in-law Brian Zeglen; her two much-loved and doted-upon grandchildren, Penny and Leila Zeglen; her siblings, Steven Mitchel and Mary Mitchel Baker; her brother-in-law Cort Baker; her nephews James and Jeff Baker; and her step-mother Gail Mitchel.

TeresaTerry, to most, or Tita to Penny and Leilawas born in Syracuse, N.Y., in January of '54 and moved to Santa Ana, Calif., in '60. She stayed in the Orange County area until she completed a bachelor's degree in Biology and a master's in Teaching from UC Irvine, a master's in Marriage and Family Counseling from Cal State Fullerton, and most of the raising of her two children with Mike Henderson. She spent much of the rest of her life working with non-profit organizations and support groups, or seeking further specialized training in ways to assist others, including coursework toward a master's in Public Health from Cal State Fullerton.

A service in her remembrance will be held Sunday, Sept 16, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rogue Valley, which is located at 87 4th St. Terry and all her family would be honored by your attendance; in lieu of flowers, donations to the GMO-Free Jackson County advocacy groupfor which Terry was a passionate volunteerwould be both welcome and appreciated.
