2 men arrested after allegedly drawing guns in downtown fight

 Posted: 2:00 AM September 15, 2012

Ashland and Medford police have arrested two men who allegedly pulled out guns during a fight early Friday morning at O'Ryan's Irish Pub in Ashland.

No one was hurt during the incident, which happened at about 2 a.m. on a back porch behind the pub and in the alley below, which is also known as Will Dodge Way.

One man, 28-year-old Daveon Fleming, allegedly fled the scene. Police tracked him to Medford and arrested him at 8:30 a.m. Friday on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

The other man, Deshawn Winzer, was arrested following an alleged attempted getaway and fight with police on Will Dodge Way at about 2:30 a.m.

"He had to be restrained and taken to the ground," Ashland police Sgt. Tighe O'Meara said.

Winzer was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, removing the serial numbers from a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon. Both men were lodged at the Jackson County Jail. County records show Fleming no longer listed, but Winzer remained in jail late Friday.

Police did not immediately know specifics about what led up to the fight, but said that the men do know each other.
