In its summer tourist season, Shady Cove draws fishermen, rafters and — this weekend — artisans to the Rogue River's edge.
More than 100 artists from Oregon, Northern California, Nebraska and Washington, as well as a handful of performing artists, will come together this weekend for the sixth annual Shady Cove River Art Walk.
The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14-15, at Edgewater Inn, 7800 Rogue River Drive, Shady Cove and Rogue River RV Park, 21800 Crater Lake Highway, Shady Cove.
This year's featured artists include award-winning Eagle Point artist Charity Hubbard and metal artist Jamie Maunu.
The Prospect Future Farmers of America and Upper Rogue 4-H clubs will host Kid's Art Zone. The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Aunt Caroline's Park, located on the corner of Highway 62 and Indian Creek Road.
There will be live music throughout the weekend, plus several food vendors.
Free parking is available south of the Shady Cove Bridge (at the former Two Pines Smokehouse). A free trolley will pick up guests and take them to the art walk entrance.
"Fee Parking" is available across from the Edgewater Inn. (Please note that parking will not be available at Edgewater Inn or the Rogue River RV Park.)
Well-mannered pets on short leashes are permitted.
The event is sponsored by the Upper Rogue Regional Tourism Alliance as well as Edgewater Inn and the Rogue River RV Park.
