Amy Goodman coming to Ashland

Host of Democracy Now! and syndicated columnist Amy Goodman has scheduled a stop in Ashland Nov. 22 as part of a tour to promote her fourth book, "Breaking the Sound Barrier," a collection of her columns.

As part of the tour, Goodman plans to visit 30 cities in the last half of November and the first week of December, before traveling to Copenhagen to cover the climate summit with a team from Democracy Now!, a radio/TV news hour hosted by Goodman.

Goodman also writes a syndicated column that appears in the Daily Tidings on Saturdays.

According to information sent out by her advance team, the Ashland stop will include three events:

  • A benefit reception for KSKQ-lp, Ashland's community low-power FM radio station, 6 p.m., Nov. 22.
  • A talk by Goodman at the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall, to benefit Southern Oregon Public Television, 7-9 p.m., Nov. 22.
  • A live broadcast of Democracy Now! from the studios of SOPTV in Medford, at 5 a.m., Nov. 23.

Following her stop in Ashland, Goodman is scheduled to be in Eugene and Portland as part of the tour.
