Two Ashland groups receive Meyer grants

Three Southern Oregon organizations collected a total of about $83,000 when Meyer Memorial Trust awarded more than $2.3 million to 46 nonprofit organizations last month.

Ashland's Southern Oregon Film Society collected $25,000 to support the Ashland Independent Film Festival. Within Earthly Bounds, also located in Ashland, received $8,156 to support a training program at small farms in Southern Oregon. Lovejoy Hospice in Grants Pass got $50,000 to start a transitions program that creates a bridge of services for patients with terminal illness.

The recent grants brought the total awarded since Meyer Memorial Trust began operating in 1982 to more than $489 million.

All grants made in October are listed at www.mmt.org/news/latest/. More information about the Meyer Memorial Trust and applying for a grant is available at www.mmt.org or by calling (503) 228-5512.
