The Southern Oregon women's volleyball team ran its win streak to 12 with a 25-11, 25-15, 25-20 sweep of Northwest Christian on Saturday at McNeal Pavilion.
The Raiders improved to 21-2 overall and 15-1 in Cascade Conference play. Northwest Christian dropped to 6-20 overall and 1-16 in conference. Southern Oregon wraps up the regular season next week at Evergreen State and Northwest.
Chelsea Hartman led the Raiders with 11 kills and a .421 attack percentage. Becky Johnstone finished with 13 digs and Corynn Jorgensen had 11 digs. Angela Spieker had 21 assists and Caryn Westrick finished with 14 assists.
SOU finished the match with a .303 attack percentage and held the Beacons to a .070 attack percentage.
Northwest Christian was led by Cassie Bishop's nine kills.
Men's Basketball
Oregon State forced 22 turnovers and shot 56 percent as the NCAA Division I Beavers scored a 94-53 victory over NAIA Southern Oregon on Sunday in an exhibition game in Corvallis.
Southern Oregon (1-0) travels to Fresno Pacific Friday night.
Sophomore Joe White led the Raiders with 14 points, including a 4-for-5 effort from 3-point land. Trevor McCay finished with 10 points and Justonn Smith had eight.
Prep Water Polo
At Albany, the Ashland girls and boys squads, the defending state champions, advanced to the Class 5A semifinals with dominating substate victories at South Albany Community Pool.
The Grizzly girls downed Hillsboro, 16-8, and the boys topped Woodburn, 27-11.
On Friday in Tualatin, the girls play Bend and the boys face Summit for a shot at their respective titles.
In the girls win, Kallie Walker scored eight goals and Smith Freeman, Sarah Kasiah and Jacy Mairs each had two. Carlee Santee notched 12 saves in goal.
In the boys win, Adam Good and Wynn Michaels tallied seven goals, and Lucas Opgenorth had five. Willis Plummer recorded 13 saves in goal.
