In the cold weather we need to provide shelter from the rain and cold, and also to make sure their drinking water is fresh, and not frozen if it's kept outside.
Not that I'm telling you how to care for your pets, but if it were me, I'd bring them in when the weather is bad. That means, rain, snow, or temperatures below 45 degrees.
They'll love you for it.

How is statue 'racist'?
Patti Morey: In the past two years you have called our pioneer statue "a public menace and a bad influence on children."
You have asked that it be replaced with a statue of a pioneer woman, but in your latest letter of Oct. 15, you now call him a "racist man with a gun."
Would you please explain to me and the rest of the citizens of Ashland in just what way he is a racist?
I would suggest to you that since this statue is so disturbing to your peace of mind, that you avoid going into the plaza area as much as possible. If you do not look at it, it cannot be a threat to your well being.
In passing, I have lived in Ashland for more than 50 years, as a child and then as a retired adult. I have never heard anyone else complain or criticize that statue. He is a part of our history and a landmark for all who travel through Ashland. I wonder how many people have photographed him to have a memento of Ashland.

Thanks for round-up
I wanted to thank the powers-that-be for making the Plastic Round-up happen again this year. We saved our clamshells, food trays, plant containers and anything else plastic in pre-sorted bins in our garage all year and were thrilled to drop off a carload for only $5 on Saturday! It was easy to save and store (all year) and easy to drop off. The smiling faces and appreciation from the volunteers was amazing!
So, thank you, and we've started collecting again for next year's round-up!
