  • Ashland baked under record-breaking heat on Wednesday, as temperatures reached 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasts call for more hot weather through the end of this week, although a storm moving east from the Pacific Ocean should bring some relief starting today.
"In terms of the extreme heat, yesterday we kind of peaked, but we'll still stay above normal in terms of temperature for the next few days," said Mike Petrucelli, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service's Medford Office.
Wednesday was the hottest day of the summer so far, beating Tuesday's high temperature by one degree, he said.
