  • An Oregon State Police traffic stop Tuesday morning led to the arrest of two Washington State men and the seizure of approximately 7 pounds of marijuana on Interstate 5 south of Ashland. The seized marijuana has an approximate value of $25,000, according to OSP.
On July 7, 2009 at approximately 9:30 a.m. OSP troopers stopped a 1995 Ford Taurus displaying Washington license plates traveling northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 12 for a traffic violation. The two occupants were identified as driver DANIEL NORMAN AGUE, age 41, from Tenino, Washington, and passenger KURT DARREN ETHERIDGE, age 42, from Olympia, Washington.
A subsequent investigation related to the stop led to a search of the car and discovery of fourteen (14) individually packaged ziplock bags containing marijuana within two coolers inside the trunk.
AGUE and ETHERIDGE were arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Distribution and Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance — Marijuana. Bail for both suspects listed at $120,000.
