Ashland Police & Fire Reports

Thursday 2 a.m. — A man reported the theft of his bicycle from the 100 block of Wightman Street between 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Friday 3:16 p.m. — A resident found a white dog with brown patches, a lab and pitbull mix, near North Mountain Park and brought him to the downtown contact station. The dog had no identification and was taken to the animal shelter.

Friday 11:40 a.m. — Police cited a man for drinking alcohol in a vehicle while parked at the Rite-Aid parking lot.

Friday 10:37 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle at Ashland High School.

Friday 1:05 p.m. — Police reported graffiti on two fire hydrants on Grant Street.

Friday 5:23 p.m. — Police found a man in front of City Hall who was too intoxicated to care for himself and transported him to detox.

Friday 9:48 p.m. — Police cited a boy for minor in possession of alcohol at Ashland High School.

Friday 11:01 p.m. — Police found a man to be in possession of a suspended driver's license. The license was confiscated and will be destroyed.

Friday 11:40 p.m. — Police impounded a car at the intersection of Hillview Drive and Ross Lane when the driver was found to have a suspended license and no insurance.

Saturday 12:19 a.m. — A boy reported the theft of his unlocked bicycle from Ashland High School while he attended a dance.

Saturday 9:20 a.m. — A woman reported someone attempted to enter apartment by slashing the window screens in her living room, bathroom and master bedroom on the 100 block of Lincoln Street. The suspects did not gain entry, and there are no further leads or suspects.

Saturday 2:47 p.m. — A woman reported her purse was stolen while shopping at Shop'n Kart.

Saturday 4 p.m. — A man reported that someone entered his unlocked residence on the 800 block of Oak Street and stole his 42-inch flat screen TV and a laptop computer.

Sunday 1:21 a.m. — Police arrested a 20-year-old man for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving at the intersection of Wightman and Webster streets.

Sunday 3:15 a.m. — Police stopped a man for speeding at the intersection of North Main and Pioneer streets and discovered his license was suspended. He was cited and his vehicle was impounded.

Sunday 7:44 a.m. — Police arrested a 28-year-old woman for menacing after responding to a disturbance on the 300 block of West Nevada Street.

Sunday 12:40 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a yellow female labrador on the driving range of Oak Knoll Golf Course. The dog was taken to Jackson County Animal Control.

Sunday 5 p.m. — Two unidentified suspects purchased fuel at Ashland Chevron with a counterfeit $50 bill. Police have no suspects or leads at this time.

Monday 12:04 a.m. — Police arrested a 23-year-old man for second-degree trespassing after he fled from a vehicle into the backyard of a residence at the intersection of Gresham and Hargadine streets. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail.
