College Track and Field
At Gresham, Southern Oregon University senior Ryan Musselman cleared 15 feet, 7 inches to be crowned Conference Champion in the pole vault at the Cascade Conference Track and Field Championships on Sunday. Musselman, who hails from Wilderville, was the lone Raider to capture a Conference gold and has already qualified for the NAIA Championships, where he received All-America honors by placing third as a sophomore.
The other top-three men finishers for the Raiders were Daniel Cecchini, who finished second in the high jump, Jeremiah Lewman, who placed second in the 400 hurdles, Anthony Monteleone, who took second in the 5,000, and Brandon McGraw, who placed third in the 100.
Two Raider relay teams — the men's 2x400 and 4x100, capture second and third, respectively.
On the women's side, Mary Converse and Jamie Wells were top-three finishers for the Raiders. Converse placed third in the grueling heptathlon and Wells placed third in the pole vault.
As a team, the Raiders placed fourth on the men's side, scoring 102 points, and the women finished in fifth place with 53 points.
Concordia University captured both the men's and women's crown scoring 238.5 and 229 points, respectively.
