Fay F. Goddard

A memorial service for Fay F. Goddard will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2003, at the First Baptist Church, 100 Oak St., Central Point, Ore. Pastor Damon McCoy will officiate. Private interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Ore.

Mr. Goddard, 89, of Medford, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 10, 1914 in Frontier County, Neb. to McLean Goddard and the former Anna Isabel Wymore. He served in the US Army from 1941 to 1945. On Sept. 14, 1945 at St. Francis, Kan., he married the former Dorothy A Suttle, who survives.

Mr. Goddard came to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from Fort Morgan, Colo. and worked for Harry and David as an orchard foreman from 1946 to retirement in 1979. He enjoyed bowling and working in his yard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Central Point.

Survivors in addition to his wife Dorothy of Medford include sons, Dean A. Goddard of Hayward, Calif. and Jerry F. Goddard of Garden Grove, Calif.; daughter, Virginia Goddard of Medford; brothers, Asa and Roy; sister Ina Bashford; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Pearl Jacobson

Pearl Jacobson, 83, of Ashland, died Monday, March 3, 2003 at the Scenic Hills Foster Home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Faith Tabernacle, Ashland.

Pearl was born May 20, 1919, daughter of Henry Weber and Olie Sorli. She graduated from high school in 1937 in Alamo, N.D. She was married to Alfred K. Jacobson, who died in 1994.

Pearl was a homemaker, author, songwriter and fashion designer.

Her hobbies included sewing, knitting and reading. She lived in Ashland since 1966. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church.

Survivors include daughters, April Wine of Ashland and Jan Jacobson of Freemont, Calif.; sons, Keith Jacobson of Rochester, Minn., Larry Jacobson of Las Vegas, Nev., Tom Jacobson of Williston, N; Tim Jacobson of Medford and Luke Jacobson of Ashland; twenty-one grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Preceded in death was Pearl's husband, Alfred; brothers, William and Oscar Weber; sister, Martha Jacobson.

Douglas Stuart Diehl

Douglas Stuart Diehl, 45, of Ashland, died Monday, March 3, 2003 at the Rogue Valley medical Center, Medford. A private memorial service will be held.

Douglas Stuart Diehl was born Oct. 3, 1957 in Oakland, Calif., son of Stuart and Carole (Williams) Diehl. He lived in the Rogue Valley since 1980. He was married to Sharon Johnson, who died. He served in the US Army from 1976 to 1979.

Douglas was a poet and a professional musician/guitarist. His hobbies included reading and practicing Buddhism.

Survivors include sister, Genna Diehl Berlin of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (Johnson) Diehl and his parents, Stuart and Carole Diehl.

Dorothy Busch

The memorial service for Dorothy Busch will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Larson of the Christian Church of Ashland.

Mrs. Busch, 93, of Medford, formerly Ashland, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at the Anna Maria Creekside Retirement Center, Medford. She was born Sept. 23, 1909 in LaGrand, Ore. the daughter of Maude and Colon Eberhard. She graduated with a teaching degree from the University of Oregon and taught at the Klamath Union High School in Klamath Falls, Ore. from 1932 to 1939.

On Dec. 30, 1936 at LaGrand, Ore., she married Jim H. Busch who preceded her in death in 1988. Mrs. Busch served on the Ashland School board for several years and was a member of Chapter BN P.E.O. She enjoyed sewing and playing cards.

Surviving are two sons, Jack Busch of Los Altos, Calif. and Jim Busch of Hines, Ore. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one brother.
